Awesome Electronic

Many moons ago when I still had all my hair and my penis was not so crooked, I once read a book that was cumplsory material for anybody in high school where I lived. It has withstood the test of time rather well I think and probably inspired quite a bit of thought about the role of government and science.

I've long suspected that the movie THX 1138 was at least a nod to it, "Brave New World", a sentiment that more than a few people have voiced in the years since it first debuted to a very dismal public response.

Even if you don't feel much like reading a timeless classic a lot of Aldous Huxley's quotes are worth reading and take only seconds and, while you're reading them give some thought to at least listening to the first track from GOL's release, "Soma Holiday".

When I went to buy a copy I found that they never made a US release. Some of the Youtube vids using the sound track are actually pretty nice though I would almost like to do one of my own for it. GOL (God's of Luxury) never did a video for it for some reason. Pity, I would have liked to see what they would come up with.

Ya know, I read 1984 for the first time last year and I was astounded.

I should probably read this. . .

When you do, put this tune up and listen -

The book was required reading when I was in high school. I think my first impressions would have been quite different if I had known about the role the UK had in forcing China to let them sell opium there.
